Types of Fibroids |
|
This type of fibriod is found in the uterine wall. These are most often missed in traditional myomectomy and other procedures. With laparoscopy, many fibroids are left behind and only the superficial tumors are removed. Also with laparoscopy, a great deal of bleeding can take place which is why there are so many blood transfusions with this approach.
These
form under the endometrial lining. The endometrium is important for fertility and the
creation of many hormones and other substances necessary in normal female physiology. The
endometrium also serves as a receptor site for hormones. Many of the hyped
procedures actually permanently destroy the functional endometrium. In these procedures,
the endometrium is destroyed. The fibroids are not removed but you do not bleed because the
endometrium is burned off and scarred.

These
tumors are on stalks and the easiest to remove by any technique. One must make sure to
remove the base of the tumor to decrease reoccurrence of the tumor. Many of the
current techniques do not remove the entire base or the stalk . You think your tumor is
completely gone but the stalk or base cells exist so that the tumor continues to
grow. Women blindly believe they have a NEW tumor when, it is the old tumor stalk
creating more fibroid mass. FRS removes the fibroids and the stalks. |
